Creating a Puppy Nursery

A safe place for a new beginning.

We just finished our puppy nursery. A safe place for our mammas to deliver and raise their puppies. With our kids all gone and grown we transformed one of our rooms into a nursery. The Room is temperature controlled and includes its own doggie door so Mamma’s can go directly outside easily to a separate area for them to do their business then return quickly to their puppies. it looks similar to a baby nursery except for a heated whelping box instead of a crib, and even a rocking chair for use to be able to be comfortable while on puppy watch during whelping. With 2 of our girls due at the same time we also built a double sided whelping box,

This room is also filled with everything a puppy and mamma might need incase a medical emergency might arise in the middle of the night.

Our goal is to be prepared for any instance that can come up during whelping and our puppies first few weeks of life. I know some would probably think this is overkill, but I would rather be over-prepared than loose a momma or puppy because we forgot something.
